This is a modern parable about the decisions we need to make and the balance of investment opportunities available today.

The Millionaire Next Door

By: Stanley & Danko

Although a bit dated, this is still very relevant today and a great study of the wealthy and the mindsets behind them.

Set for Life

By: Scott Trench

This is a detailed breakdown of the hurdles of becoming financially free and provides actionable steps on how to get there.

The Intelligent Investor

By: Benjamin Graham

A classic book for serious investors. One of the biggest take-home points was the importance of systems to remove the common emotional investing mistakes.

The White Coat Investor

By: James Dahle

A physician who went to the same medical school my wife and I attended shares a number of financial tips for physicians. NOTE: He also has great resources online.

Unshakable

By: Tony Robbins

Another modern classic addressing the best practices in the financial industry. One of the most important points for me in this book was how out-dated and downright corrupt certain aspects of the financial landscape are.

Killing Sacred Cows - Garrett B. Gunderson

I also liked his earlier book ‘What Would the Rockefellers Do?’, and in this book Garrett talks a lot about the flaws of traditional investing ideas and practices and how to change your beliefs and strategies to achieve actual financial success.
